Weekly Newsletter 4/12/10

NO HOMEWORK THIS WEEK OR SPELLING WORDS!!!

Due to AIMS testing this week we will not be learning Math, English, Phonics, or Reading. We will focus on reviewing when not testing. Monday we will not be testing but other grades will be. I will also try to go over some stuff in Science and Social Studies. This is a very important week for the students. It is important they get plenty of rest and a good breakfast. We will provide an extra snack in the morning for those that are testing. It is very important that your child is on time this week. If you child is not on time they will sit in the office until our test is finished testing.

In Science, we will continue to learn about rocks and minerals.

In Social Studies, we will learn how a government works.

If anyone can send in pencils it would be very much appreciated. The students are going through them fast.

Our class will be competing against the other 3rd grade classes and the 4th grade in an Olympics on April 28th. We will teach the students about how the government works. They will create money, a country name, and other interesting things about the country.

Penny War week is April 19th through Aril 23rd. Please bring in pennies. Boys will be competing against the girls for a free dress down day.

There will be a mother/son dance on April 23rd. There will be more information to come.

Our Book Fair will be the week of May 10th through May 14th. It will be buy one book get one free.
